Marshard Ceramics · Lefkes, Paros

Ceramic forms shaped by nature, memory, and hand.

In Lefkes, Paros, Todd Marshard creates handmade ceramic vessels and sculptural pieces inspired by weathered shells, sea-worn stones, seed pods, cactus forms, and the quiet textures of the Aegean landscape.

Work

Organic forms with the memory of wind, salt, and time.

Each piece begins with fragments of the natural world: a shell edge, a dried pod, a sculptural stone, the hardy silhouette of cactus. The work does not copy these forms; it carries their essence.

Artist

A new language in clay.

After an internationally successful career as a fashion photographer, Todd Marshard found a new creative language in clay. The medium changed, but the instinct remained: to observe, compose, and celebrate form.

Years behind the camera shaped his sensitivity to texture, silhouette, light, and balance. Those same instincts now guide a ceramic practice rooted in hand-building and close attention to the natural world.

Living and working on Paros, he draws from the island’s rugged landscape and the quiet objects it reveals: weathered shells, seaweed, sculptural stones, dried seed pods, and cactus forms shaped by Mediterranean sun.

The pieces are not literal studies of these forms, but interpretations of their essence. Organic silhouettes, tactile surfaces, and subtle asymmetries carry the marks of wind, salt, and time.

Bridging photography and sculpture, his ceramics pair a refined sense of composition with the raw beauty of the Aegean landscape — works that feel both ancient and contemporary.
